The "Barn Mom" with a passion for all things equine. As one of our founding directors and president, she brings a LOT to the table. If she's not in the barn taking care of the horses or coming up with new exciting fundraiser ideas, she can be found crocheting or spending time with her family. She comes to our team from a long background of animal rescue work, and is very knowledgeable and passionate about equine nutrition and care.
As the second member of our team of founding directors and Vice President, she does a lot of the behind the scenes work. If she's not working on spreadsheets or dreaming up new ideas for ITR's future, she's working on another craft project or taking care of her aquariums & plants. She comes to our team from over 5 years in the horse rescue world with a passion for all animals, and over a decade of experience with running a non profit organization.
As the third and final piece to our trio of founding directors, and our Secretary, Danielle brings to the team her awesome networking skills and a undying love for Off The Track Standardbreds. If she's not working to spread the word of our program, she can be found in her barn where she raises beautiful quality goats and rabbits at Goodrich Meadows in Decatur, MI. She comes to us with loads of experience with horses and rescue work.
Our loveable and somewhat mischievous mascot. He loves to be groomed, and LOVES getting attention from kids. After pulling Toast from Shipshewana Livestock Auction in October of 2022, we started thinking about how we could help other horses like him. He's a lovely reminder of why we do what we do.
Our fierce protector and loveable greeter. If you make an appointment to visit the farm, you'll find Badger waiting for you when you arrive, ready to take all the attention you'll give him.
The barn supervisor and lead member of our "Mouse Extermination Team." She can often be found following the staff around while they care for all of the horses. Once her duties have been fulfilled, she can be found prowling through the fields looking for her next catch.
The foreman of the barn can usually be found doing absolutely nothing. Unless it's making biscuits. He makes a lot of those.
Our brother and sister nigeran dwarf goat duo that provide us with endless laughs and a lot of joy. They love attention, but even more so, they love food!
