We are hopelessly devoted to helping equines with compassion, kindness, and integrity. 

ITR became an official 501(c)3 organization in August of 2023 and has been in operation since 2022. 

We are located in Newport, MI. Please contact us if you'd like to make a visit to our facility. We are a private facility and do require an appointment. 

There are several ways to get involved, whether it's donating supplies or monetarily, adopting a horse, sponsorship, or just sharing our page with a friend. We appreciate ALL of the help we receive from supporters.

We specialize in 3 areas. Minis, skinny's and momma's. This means we try our best to focus on miniature horses & ponies, horses that are severely underweight, and mares that are either in foal or have a foal at their side. While these are the areas we specialize in, we often have horses outside of these areas as well. 

The short answer is, that's up to the horse! 

When a horse comes into our program they go through a 30 day quarantine period where they are closely monitored for any signs of illness. This is to protect the rest of our herd as well as yours, too! During that 30 days, horses will receive routine care to bring them back to health. This includes things like farrier and dental work, seeing our DVM, being de-wormed, receiving vital vitamins and minerals they may be deficient in, and a nutritious forage based diet with supplemental feed as necessary. We also evaluate training during this time. The rehabilitation process is more often than not far greater than 30 days, but after the 30 days, and all of the routine things have been addressed, our team discusses a plan of adoption for each specific horse. Once we agree that a horse is ready, they become available to adopt.
